The Kiev Piano Duo (Oleksandra Zaytseva & Dmitry Tavanets) has won prizes at several International duo competitions; In 2002 they won 1st Prize at the International Piano Duo Competition CMF (Paris, France), winners of XIX Schubert International Piano Duo Competition (Czech Republic, 2005), 1st Prize at the International competition "Piano six hands" (Marktoberdorf, Germany, 2006), 2nd Prize at the V International piano Duo Competition in Kaunas (Lithuania). They have performed in Tehran (Iran) where they also did master-classes. They have also made concerts in Ukraine, France, Poland, Hungary, Czech Republic, Netherlands, and have taken part at the Tavaszi Festival (Budapest, Hungary) & festival "Virtuoso" (Lviv, Ukraine). Both musicians are organizers of music festival "Chamber music session" (Kiev, Ukraine).
In 2007 the duo visited Denmark for the first time and performed at the Copenhagen Summer Festival - with great success and received standing ovation. Both pianists also pursue a very active international career as piano soloists. Oleksandra Zaytseva graduated from The National Academy of Music, Ukraine, studying with Professor Oleksandr Snegiryov and then finished post graduate study at the same institute in the class of Professor Igor Ryabov. She is a Prizewinner of many International Piano Competitions; in memory of A. Rubinstein (Poland), Rome 1996 (Italy), Antonin Dvořák International Piano Competition (Czech Republic, Grand Prix). Oleksandra is also the holder of Vox Populi and Grand Prix Prize in Regina and Vladimir Horowitz Festival (1995, 1996, 1997, Kiev, Ukraine). Furthermore she has taken part in several International music festivals; Musica Antiqua (Brugge, Belgium), Beethoven festival and many others. She has appeared in numerous concerts with orchestras and done many solo recitals in Ukraine and abroad. Oleksandra performances have been played in both radio and TV. Now Oleksandra Zaytseva is the piano teacher at the National Academy of Music, Ukraine. Dmytro Tavanets also finished from the National Academy of Music, Ukraine, and post graduate study at the same institute, where he was studying with Professor Vsevolod Vorobyov. As Zaytseva, he is also a Prizewinner of National Piano Competitions, finalist of 1st and 2nd International Piano Competitions in memory of Vladimir Horowitz. From 1999 he has been working with the National Ensemble of Soloists "Kyiv Kamerata". Dmytro took part in Music Fest (Kyiv), "2 days and 2 nights" (Odessa), Festival of modern music (Yerevan, Armenia), Days of Ukrainian Culture in Germany (Berlin), Days of Kiev’s culture in Moscow (Russia), & "New Music Marathon 2005" (Prague, Czech Republic).
