Jia Jia Qiao is born and resides in Beijing, China.
She was born in Anyang, capital of the second dynasty in China and the origin of the famous chinese book I Ching. Eleven years old Jia Jia passed the audition to be a percussion student at The Central Conservatory of Music in Beijing. A new life started in a distance of 800 kilometers to her parents’ home. Years later she graduated and got the job as classical Chinese percussion teacher at the same institution. Jia Jia Qiao won the 1. prize in The Chinese Traditional Music Solo Competition 2003 and she has been a soloist throughout Asia such as Singapore, Macao, Japan and China. The national television of China CCTV transmitted her tour to South Africa 2001 and she had also performed in Canada and many countries of Europe. From 2004 - 2005 Jia Jia stayed in Denmark and quickly became a well-known interpreter of Chinese traditional and contemporary music and did performed throughout the country including festivals such as the Sound Around Festival. She has specially been invited to play for the Danish queen Her Majesty Margrethe 2nd and the royal family at Amalienborg.
