Operaen - Takkelloftet

Det kinesiske slagtøjsfænomen Jia Jia Qiao er koncertens helt store solist.

Hun er født og bosat i Kina. I en alder af blot 11 år blev Jia Jia optaget på Beijing Central Conservatory, hvor hun i dag er lærer. Hun har høstet stor International anerkendelse og vandt i 2003 første pris ved den Internationale solistkonkurrence for instrumentalister i Kina. Hun har fået en særlig tilknytning til Danmark, idet et stipendium fra den kinesiske regering gav hende mulighed for at videreuddanne sig hos professor Gert Mortensen på Det kongelige Danske Musikkonservatorium. Hun har sågar optrådt for Hendes Majestæt Dronning Margrethe på Amalienborg og for Hans Kongelige Højhed Prinsgemal Henrik i Kina.

Som afslutning på en storstilet Danmarks-turné optræder Jia Jia Qiao på Operaen i København søndag den 21. september kl. 15 sammen med studerende fra Musikhögskolan i Malmö og Det Fynske Musikkonservatorium. Desuden medvirker den fremstormende danske slagtøjsduo SUPERC, som består af Anders Lynghøj og Ronni Kot Wenzell. Musikken til slagtøjsfesten er skrevet af komponister fra Ukraine, Rusland, Spanien, Japan, Sverige og Danmark, alle værker er udgivet på Edition Svitzer.

Billetterne sælges for den nette sum af 100 kr. pr. stk. og kan bestilles via: mail@editionsvitzer.com.

Baren holder åbent en time efter koncerten, der varer ca. 2 timer.  Det vil være muligt at forsyne sig med snacks og vin – og få lejlighed til at hilse på Jia Jia Qiao og de øvrige medvirkende.

Danish tour with Jia Jia Qiao - presenting three new works published by Edition Svitzer


 

The Danish Tour with Jia Jia Qiao, starts the 2nd of September and will finish at the Opera the 21th of September 2008. The tour schedule is as following:

Søren Monrad´s large scale piece GALADRIEL for Big Band, percussion group and soloist is being world-premiered by the Klüvers Big Band and John Syberg.

The performance takes place in “Århus Festuge”, the 3rd of September with two concerts at the same day (4 & 7 pm). Both the concerts begin with Monrad´s Zavanna, performed by students from the percussion department at the Carl Nielsen Academy of Music, lead by Monrad.

GALADRIEL has been under construction for more than one year, and we look very much forwarded to see how this powerful piece is received by the audience.

Klüvers Big Band

Edition Svitzer is proud to announce that we for the second year in a row attend the World's Largest percussion convention 2008 PASIC Austin, Texas: 5-8 November.

This year two of our works Zavanna and 6&8 will be performed at the Focus day by Mike Rosen and the Oberlin Percussion Ensemble. Austin Vaughn will be the soloist in the 6&8. Compared to last year our percussion catalogue has been widely expanded and we are looking forward to spread the music to a big and very important market for us.

PASIC 

Arena, by Tobias Broström is being performed at the 5th WORLD MARIMBA COMPETITION STUTTGART 2008

Cornelia Monske who is the professor at the Musikhochschule in Hamborg, Germany, is going to perform Arena the September 26th in Stuttgart. Edition Svitzer will attend the concert. We consider this performance very important for us that this event is one of the most prestigious percussion scenes in the World. We look forward to hear Cornelias interpretation of the exacting and growing Arena.
